Oakshire Kennel
We specialize in champion bloodline Golden Retrievers, ranging from cream (also incorrectly known in America as "white")
to light golden in color.  Here in the US, they are often referred to as "English Type" Golden Retrievers, since the
AKC standard differs from  that of the region of origin.  Our love and upbringing with many breeds, eventually brought
us to the best decision we ever made, getting our first Golden Retriever.   After such a great experience, an unfeigned
desire grew to become involved, and help to establish quality English type Goldens in the U.S.  

We are members of the Golden Retriever Club of America, and believe in, and follow their code  of ethics.    Our dogs
are selectively paired to bring out the best in the standard of the breed in conformation and temperament.  Our main
interest is continuing, and bettering the breed by producing sound, typical dogs of the original standard.  

We do conformation shows, campaigning and handling our own dogs for UCI International titles with the International
All Breed Canine Association.  We work with two handlers in Canada to gain Canadian tiles, and have future hopes of
doing some campaigning in Sweden.  Although the AKC does not as often recognize the paler shade Goldens, with
perseverance, quality dogs, and mentors who have been extremely influential in the breed, we hope to begin to change
things here...  

Our dogs have the luxury of roaming free on our 4 ½ acres, and enjoy spending their days swimming in our pond, playing
fetch, going on bike rides,  and completing daily obedience exercises.  We feel that the English type Golden Retriever
has the optimal temperament and appearance for responsible people wanting to own a dog, whether for companionship,
conformation, obedience, hunting, agility, or just to be a member of the family.
